MBS Team Takes Out 2026 Sunshine Coast Housing & Construction Award
We’re excited to share that our project at Number One in Hastings Street, Noosa Heads has been named the winner of the Commercial Refurbishment/Renovation ($3m–$10m) category at the 2026 Sunshine Coast Housing & Construction Awards.
For our McNab Building Services (MBS) team, this project was a standout from the beginning. Working within one of Noosa’s most high-profile environments, the project called for careful planning, detailed coordination and the ability to navigate a wide range of complex building works while maintaining the day-to-day operation of the property.
The 24-unit complex overlooking Noosa Main Beach has undergone a full-scale transformation, with works spanning multiple trades and disciplines across the existing building.
Our team delivered extensive painting, waterproofing and corrosion control works, alongside significant metalwork and concrete repairs. The project also included the replacement of the building’s lift and a custom refurbishment of the existing inclinator, an important piece of infrastructure for a property built into Noosa’s steep coastal landscape.
The scope extended well beyond the building itself. MBS also delivered new tiling, retaining walls and structures, landscaping and planting, as well as upgraded electrical, lighting and irrigation systems.
Bringing all of these elements together on a single project required close coordination across the project team, particularly within a live environment where access, sequencing and minimising disruption were key considerations.
Winning the Commercial Refurbishment/Renovation ($3m–$10m) category is recognition of the work that went into delivering such a complex project, and the people who helped make it happen.
We were proud to celebrate the award alongside our Superintendent, Martin Galbraith from Galbraith Scott Pty Ltd, and the wider project team at the 2026 Sunshine Coast Housing & Construction Awards.
For Dan Moore, Head of McNab Building Services, the award is particularly significant given the complexity and profile of the project.
For MBS, the win is more than an addition to the trophy cabinet. It reflects the experience, adaptability and collaboration required to deliver complex refurbishment and renovation projects in some of Queensland’s most challenging existing environments.
And with Number One Hastings Street now looking its best overlooking one of the Sunshine Coast’s most iconic locations, it’s a project we’re proud to have been part of.
