DAF Refurbishment
Project Summary
About
The former Department of Primary Industries offices underwent a full refurbishment to create a modern, open-plan workplace for the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries.
Asbestos was safely removed before demolition, with a licensed hygienist engaged as part of the process. The building was then stripped across both levels, including walls, partitions, floor coverings, ceiling panels, amenities and services.
The new fitout delivered more than 135 open-plan workstations, meeting rooms, offices, communal kitchens and new amenities. The internal staircase was fully replaced to improve safety and became a feature of the renewed office space.
The scope also included refurbishment of two linkways connecting neighbouring Queensland Government buildings, providing equitable access to the upgraded offices.
